Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, and operational management of DBMS
• Monitoring DB performance and managing parameters to maintain a level of DB systems responses
• Installing and testing new versions of the DBMS
• Controlling access permissions and privileges
• Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly;
• Ensuring availability of resources by proactively informing about resource usage trends
• Working closely with IT project managers, Application developers
• Communicating regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
• Troubleshooting issues and problems experienced with the performance of application execution and in case of severe outages
• Responding to assigned Service Desk Request associated with database problems, standard operational services, and incidents

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of working experience in Database Administration role with one or more of the following technologies – MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or similar Relational Database Management Systems
• Basic knowledge of query troubleshooting and query execution optimization
• Knowledge of operational DBMS management (install, configure, user management, backup/restore, monitor)
• Hands-on experience with DBMS on Linux/Unix operating systems

Desirable Skills

• Basic knowledge of data modeling and database design practices
• Performance monitoring and optimization
• T-SQL proficiency and basic Linux shall scripting
• Well-spoken and written English (intermediate B1/B2 CEFR level)
